DataDevNet Bug Tracking & Reporting Services

Last Updated: March 15, 2025

Overview & Our Commitment

At DataDevNet, we believe privacy isn't just about compliance – it's about building genuine trust with every developer and team that uses our bug tracking platform. This policy explains how we handle your data with the respect and care it deserves.

We understand that when you're reporting bugs, managing development workflows, or collaborating on sensitive projects, you need absolute confidence that your information stays secure. That's why we've designed our privacy practices to be transparent, practical, and focused on what actually matters to you.

This policy covers all interactions with DataDevNet's services, whether you're using our web platform, mobile apps, or API integrations. We operate under Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act and follow international best practices for data security.

Information We Collect

Account & Profile Information

When you create a DataDevNet account, we collect basic information needed to provide our services: your email address, chosen username, and company details if you're setting up a team workspace. We also store your profile preferences, notification settings, and dashboard customizations.

Bug Reports & Project Data

Bug descriptions, screenshots, and attachments you upload
Code snippets and log files shared through our platform
Project names, tags, and organizational structures you create
Comments, discussions, and collaboration messages
Timeline data showing bug resolution progress

Technical Information

To keep our platform running smoothly and secure, we automatically collect certain technical information when you use DataDevNet. This includes your IP address, browser type, operating system, and device information. We also track which features you use most often to improve our service.

Important: We never access the actual source code of your applications unless you explicitly share specific snippets through bug reports. Your intellectual property remains completely private.

How We Use Your Information

Core Service Delivery

Everything we collect serves a specific purpose in delivering reliable bug tracking services. Your account information helps us authenticate you securely and maintain your personalized workspace. Bug report data enables our tracking algorithms and helps generate useful analytics about your development process.

Platform Improvements

We analyze usage patterns (always in aggregate, never individual behavior) to understand which features work well and which need improvement. This data helps us prioritize new features and optimize performance across different environments and team sizes.

Data Type Primary Use Retention Period
Account Information Authentication & personalization Until account deletion
Bug Reports Tracking & project management 3 years after project completion
Usage Analytics Service improvement 2 years (anonymized after 6 months)
Technical Logs Security & troubleshooting 90 days

Data Sharing & Third Parties

We keep data sharing to an absolute minimum. Your bug reports, project information, and development data never leave our systems except in these specific circumstances:

Service Providers

We work with carefully selected partners who help us deliver reliable service. Our cloud hosting provider stores encrypted data, our email service sends notifications, and our analytics tools help us understand platform performance. All these partners sign strict data processing agreements and can only use your information for the specific services they provide to us.

Integration Partners

When you connect DataDevNet with other development tools (like GitHub, Slack, or project management platforms), we only share the specific information needed for those integrations to work. You control exactly which data gets shared through your integration settings.

We Never: Sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with companies wanting to market to you. Your development information stays focused on helping you build better software.

Your Privacy Rights

You have comprehensive control over your information. Here's what you can do and how to do it:

Access Your Data

Download a complete copy of all your information, including bug reports, comments, and account settings. Available through your account settings or by contacting support.

Update Information

Change any account details, project information, or preferences directly in your dashboard. Updates take effect immediately across all your workspaces.

Delete Specific Data

Remove individual bug reports, comments, or projects without affecting your entire account. Useful when projects are cancelled or information becomes outdated.

Account Deletion

Completely remove your DataDevNet account and all associated data. We'll permanently delete everything within 30 days, except basic transaction records required by law.

Taiwan Privacy Rights

Under Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act, you have additional rights including the ability to request we stop processing specific types of information, correct inaccurate data, and receive detailed information about how we use your data. Contact our privacy team at help@datadevnet.com for assistance with any of these rights.

Security Measures

Security isn't just a feature – it's fundamental to everything we do. We protect your data using multiple layers of security that would make sense to any developer familiar with modern security practices.

Technical Protections

End-to-end encryption for all data transmission using TLS 1.3
AES-256 encryption for data at rest in our secure data centers
Multi-factor authentication available for all accounts
Regular security audits and penetration testing by independent firms
Automated monitoring for suspicious activity and unauthorized access attempts
Secure backup systems with geographic redundancy

Access Controls

Only authorized DataDevNet staff can access your data, and only when necessary for technical support or security purposes. All access is logged and regularly reviewed. We use role-based permissions and require multiple approvals for any administrative actions involving customer data.

Security Incident Response: If we ever detect a security issue affecting your data, we'll notify you within 72 hours with clear information about what happened and what we're doing about it.

Data Retention & Deletion

We keep your data only as long as it's useful for you or required by law. Here's our approach to data retention:

Active Account Data

While your account is active, we maintain all your bug reports, project information, and account settings so you can access your complete development history. This helps with long-term project analysis and understanding patterns in your development process.

Automatic Cleanup

Some data automatically expires based on its usefulness. Technical logs are deleted after 90 days, temporary files are removed within 48 hours, and usage analytics are anonymized after 6 months. This keeps our systems efficient while preserving the information you actually need.

Account Deletion Process

When you delete your account, we immediately stop all processing and begin permanent data removal. Within 30 days, all your personal information, bug reports, and project data are completely deleted from our systems. We only retain basic transaction records as required by Taiwan business law.

Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to make DataDevNet work properly and provide a good user experience. Here's exactly what we use and why:

Essential Cookies

These cookies are required for basic functionality – keeping you logged in, remembering your dashboard settings, and maintaining your session security. We can't provide our service without these, and they don't track you across other websites.

Analytics Cookies

We use privacy-focused analytics to understand how people use DataDevNet so we can make improvements. These cookies help us see which features are popular, where people encounter problems, and how to make the platform more efficient. You can opt out of analytics cookies in your account settings.

No Advertising Tracking: We don't use cookies for advertising, behavioral tracking, or building profiles to sell to other companies. Our tracking is purely functional and focused on improving our bug tracking services.

Changes to This Policy

We'll update this privacy policy when we add new features, change how we handle data, or respond to legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email and through your DataDevNet dashboard at least 30 days before the changes take effect.

Minor updates (like clarifying existing practices or fixing typos) won't trigger notifications, but we'll always update the "Last Modified" date at the top of this policy. We recommend checking this page occasionally to stay informed about our privacy practices.

Your Options

If you don't agree with changes to our privacy policy, you can delete your account before the changes take effect. We'll process your data under the previous policy terms until deletion is complete.
