The Story Behind DataDevNet

We started because we got tired of watching good software projects fail due to poor bug tracking. Our approach combines systematic methodology with real-world experience to help development teams actually solve problems instead of just documenting them.

How We Got Here

Back in 2019, our founder was working with a startup that had brilliant developers but kept shipping buggy releases. The problem wasn't talent—it was their chaotic approach to tracking and prioritizing issues. They were using spreadsheets, sticky notes, and whatever tool someone heard about at a conference last week.

After watching three major releases get delayed because critical bugs got lost in the shuffle, we realized there had to be a better way. Not just another tracking tool, but a complete system for how teams identify, document, and actually resolve software issues.

That experience taught us something important: good bug tracking isn't about having the fanciest dashboard. It's about creating clear processes that help teams make better decisions under pressure.

What Drives Us Every Day

Software bugs are inevitable, but the chaos they create doesn't have to be. We believe every development team deserves a clear, reliable system for managing issues that actually helps them build better products.

Our mission is straightforward: give teams the tools and processes they need to turn bug tracking from a necessary evil into a competitive advantage. When you can quickly identify, prioritize, and resolve issues, you spend less time fighting fires and more time building features that matter.

We're not trying to revolutionize software development. We're just trying to make one important part of it work the way it should.

Detailed analysis of software bug patterns and resolution workflows

Our Core Principles

  • Clarity over complexity - if your team can't understand the process, it won't work when things get hectic
  • Action over documentation - tracking bugs is only valuable if it leads to faster resolution
  • Prevention through analysis - the best bug fixes prevent similar issues from happening again
  • Team communication - bugs affect everyone, so everyone needs to understand what's happening
  • Continuous improvement - your tracking system should get smarter as your team learns
  • Realistic timelines - good bug tracking helps set expectations that teams can actually meet

Kieran Thorne
Lead Bug Tracking Specialist

Meet Our Lead Specialist

Kieran has been solving software quality problems for over twelve years, working with everyone from two-person startups to enterprise teams managing millions of lines of code. He's seen every type of bug tracking disaster you can imagine—and probably a few you can't.

Before joining DataDevNet, Kieran spent five years as a QA lead at a fintech company where a single overlooked bug could cost millions. That experience taught him the importance of systems that work under pressure and processes that scale with team growth.

These days, he spends most of his time working directly with client teams to design tracking workflows that fit their specific needs. He's particularly good at helping teams transition from ad-hoc bug management to systematic approaches without disrupting ongoing development work.

When he's not analyzing bug patterns, Kieran enjoys hiking Taiwan's mountain trails and experimenting with different coffee brewing methods.
